Round Island Route
Singapore
2014
The Round-Island-Route is the creation of a continuous scenic coastal route around Singapore, enabling universal inclusivity and recreation for all people. The design approach is a universally accessible, identifiable and enjoyable architecture. The architecture is the ‘signage’ - the intuitive way-finding tool along the route.

An identifiable iconography of integrated components is created; canopy structures, route tracks, furniture, signage and lighting. Along the route, modular 3-sided configurations of architectural forms derived from nature and geometry are sited and assembled as rest, picnic, bike service and cafe ‘pods’.

A coastal boardwalk at Changi employs a modular series of pre-fabricated elements which minimises invasive construction at the endangered sea grass sited offers a levitated viewpoint above the water.
